The visit was principally in order to visit the Gem Stone market but there are plenty more places to see. The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is well worth a visit. A number of Temples are there too.

Going through the Taksin shipyard and reviewing things there. Has character and some past history I am sure. We ate at the resort because they order whatever you want and their family brings it in for you at anytime. Breakfast was exceptional, a mix of european and thai and fitted our family. Easy to get around; however, would try and find an easier route to get to the Meena, we did not have GPS, so we ended up inside of the town and had a long drive to the resort.Suzanne PThailand - 6.0Scored 6.0

We went to the National Park, which was close, to see the waterfall. Ha ha ha ha, climbed up many steps and there it was, a little trickle of water falling down a hill....ha ha ha ha. Would not recommend this tourist attraction. Of course, I have been to real waterfalls, and so maybe that has something to do with my remarks.

Also gave us advice about local restaurants - lots of delicious and very good value local cuisine. The house has been renovated to the highest standards. Design and build quality very good. Interesting "museum" section about the history of the house and family. My third stay in Chantaburi, but first staying in the centre. Will definitely be back.GuyThailand

The staff was very helpful with providing documentation as I extended my visa in Thailand. Without request my room was upgraded, which was a wonderful surprise. Very comfortable beds, too! Chanthaburi is a very fun town with a lot of different areas to explore.

Many restaurants and cafes in the area. The staff were all charming, friendly and helpful. Rooms are serviced daily to a high standard. Probably a bit more luxurious than I'd normally choose but for what you get the price is quite reasonable and in fact I stayed an extra night.
